On March 30, the First Conference for the First Technical Committee of the National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Noodle Food (hereinafter referred to as the “Center”) was successfully held at ZZULI. Attendees comprised 13 experts and scholars including Academician Jin Zhengyu from Jiangnan University, Wang Yutian, Secretary of the CPC Party Committee and President of Henan Province Reserve Grain Management Group Co., Ltd., and Li Guokun, President and General Manager of Zhongyuan Grain Group TOFOTO Food Co., Ltd. Attendees also included Zhang Zhijian, Secretary of the CPC Party Committee of ZZULI, and Zhang Xiao, Vice President of ZZULI, along with the heads of relevant functional departments, leadership members of the College of Food and Bioengineering, and backbone members of the Center. Zhang Xiao presided over the conference.

Zhang Zhijian delivered a welcome speech on behalf of ZZULI. In addition to extending warm greetings to the participating experts and scholars for their presence and guidance, he briefly introduced the innovative achievements of ZZULI in noodle food over the past years. Zhang also stressed that ZZULI highly values the construction of the Center and has rendered all-round safeguards involving such aspects as organization, conditions, and funds. He cordially requested valuable opinions and suggestions from the experts to foster the construction and development of the Center!

The conference announced the list of committee members of the first technical committee. It appointed Academician Jin Zhengyu from Jiangnan University as chairman, Prof. Luo Zisheng from Zhejiang University and Prof. Liang Gaolin from Southeast University as vice chairmen, and ten experts including Prof. Xu Xueming from Jiangnan University as committee members. Zhang Zhijian and Wang Yutian awarded certificates to them, respectively.

The responsible person at the Center made a special report on the basic information, research orientation, construction achievements, and construction planning of the Center. Highly affirming the remarkable results yielded by the Center, the technical committee suggested that the Center take the initiative to coordinate with national and local strategic development needs, bolster the top-level design, refine the research orientation, reinforce talent introduction and training, and intensify the organized scientific research, thereby scoring landmark achievements.

Zhang Xiao delivered the concluding remarks. He expressed heartfelt thanks to the experts for their guidance and support. He stated that ZZULI will earnestly take expert opinions, integrate on-campus and off-campus resources, optimize the research orientation, elevate the scientific research level, and further strengthen the support for the construction of the Center to push for more outcomes.
