Journal of Light Industry (CN 41-1437/TS, ISSN 2096-1553) is an academic journal focusing on light industry, administered by the Education Department of Henan Province and sponsored by Zhengzhou University of Light Industry. Founded in 1986, the journal was originally named Journal of Zhengzhou University of Light Industry, and was renamed to Journal of Zhengzhou University of Light Industry (Natural Science) in 2012. It was further renamed to Journal of Light Industry in 2016. The journal primarily features pioneering research in the fields of food science and engineering, tobacco science and engineering, material science and chemical engineering, and other cognate fields within the light industry.

The journal has been selected as Chinese Core Journal by Peking University (2020 and 2023) and Excellent Science and Technology Journal of Chinese Universities. It is indexed by various international databases, including CAB Abstracts and Global Health(CABI), and Food Science and Technology Abstracts (FSTA) from UK, AJ VINITI from Russia, Chemical Abstracts (CA) from USA, EBSCO from USA, Ulrichsweb, etc. In January 2023, honored with the "Henan Outstanding Publication Award for2022 - Journal Category". In December 2022, recognized as one of the "Outstanding Scientific Journals of Chinese Universities for 2022". Continuously ranked as a "First-Class Journal in Henan Province" for five consecutive editions in 2008, 2011, 2014, 2016, and 2018. In 2016, evaluated by the Society of China University Journals as an "Outstanding Scientific Journal of Chinese Universities". In 2014, received the "Distinctive Academic Journal Award of Chinese Universities" from the Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Education.

Journal of Zhengzhou University of Light Industry (Social Science)(ISSN 1009-3729, CN 41-1312/C) was founded in Feb., 2000 and published bimonthly. The Journal is mainly devoted to publishing academic papers that are of creativeness and present the latest achievement of scientific research in such fields as Marxism and Chinese way, new media and cultural communication, philosophy, politics and administration science, law science, sociology, literature and history, economics and management, art space, foreign languages and cross-cultural communication, etc, in which the former two are key columns. The Journal is covered by several famous information retrieval systems and databases, includingthe Copy Press from Renmin University, CNKI, CHSSCD,VIP, Wanfang Data. , CEPS and Longyuan Journel net.
