With the approval of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (formerly the China National Chinese International Promotion Leading Group) under the Ministry of Education, ZZULI has successfully become the Chinese institution to host the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship (ICLTS) project.

The ICLTS is designed to support non-Chinese citizens who are interested in Chinese language education, teaching and related work to learn Chinese and take advanced study in China. It aims to address the increasing international demand for professionals in Chinese language education, promote the global development of Chinese language education, and contribute to the cultivation of professionals in international Chinese language education.

To date, only Zhengzhou University, Henan University, North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power, and Zhengzhou University of Aeronautics have been approved to host the ICLTS project in Henan Province. ZZULI is the fifth institution to qualify. This will greatly promote ZZULI's recruitment of international students to study in China and make up for the shortcomings in ZZULI's internationalization strategy.
