Recently, the research team led by President and Professor Wei Shizhong won the prestigious Gold Award at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions for their groundbreaking work on Key Technology for Control in Metal Material Forming Process and Its Extensive Applications. Our university is recognized as the primary institution behind this innovative achievement.

In this project, the research team has successfully developed a comprehensive data collection and control technology for the entire metal material forming process and established an online monitoring system that enables whole-process data management, numerical simulation, performance forecasting, design optimization, production management, and quality traceability, which have significantly enhanced the intelligent optimization and control capabilities of the metal material forming process. The research results have been successfully applied in 12 typical parts and 5 manufacturing processes in the machinery and automotive sectors, which has effectively highlighted the research team's cutting-edge expertise in the field of metal material forming on a global scale.

Founded in 1973, the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions is jointly organized by the Swiss Federal Government, the Geneva State Government, the Geneva City Government, and the World Intellectual Property Organization. It is one of the longest-standing and largest invention exhibitions in the world. The Exhibition this year attracted more than 1,000 invention projects from nearly 40 countries and regions, on which the Chinese delegation showcased 197 inventions, winning 70 gold and 97 silver awards.
