Industry Design ( Science and engineering, National Construction Site ofCharacteristic Specialty)
This National Construction Site ofCharacteristic Specialty, based on combination of modern technology, art and design, has developed systematic and scientific teaching system. We aim to cultivate compound-type talents who are be able to undertake industrial product design(including automobile design, interactivedesign,Product form and Structure Design, etc) and related jobs. We have established all-sided cooperative relationship with overseas renowned design schools in academic research and courses, and this specialty has evident specialty features and regional advantages in the respects ofdisciplineconstruction,school-running standards and the quality of teaching. The current status and prospects of employment are gratifying. Graduates are mostly working domestic famous design companies and big manufacturing companies. Major courses include The History of Industry Design, Design Fundamental, Product Design, Ergonomics, Computer Aided Design, Design Practice, etc.
Courses offered in this program are as follows:
Preliminary Product Design
Credit points: 4
Credit hours:60
Course Number: 0353108
The aim of this course is to make students understand the concepts of product and product design, the thinking mode of product design, basic elements of product design, as well as related methods and techniques through teacher’s explanation of the theory, methods and steps and students’ imitative exercise.
Fundamentals of Design
Credit points: 4
Credit hours:60
Course Number: 0353106
This course requires students study various forms of manifestation, modes of connection of different materials in two-dimensional and three-dimensional space, so as to cultivate students’ spatialimaginationability and modelingability, stimulate students’ creative thinking, enhance students’ operational ability, and solid foundation can be laid for professional design.
System Design
Credit points: 4
Credit hours:64
Course Number: 0354106
This course emphasizes the systemic view and methods of product design. Through systemic training of design, students, first of all , can understand the viewpoints related to sustainable design, systemic product design. In addition, the relationship between related elements in the design process can be analyzed systematically. Students are to grasp the methods of systemic design, be able to think over design from comprehensive and systemic perspectives, and have the ability of tackle practical problems.
The History of Industry Design
Credit points: 2
Credit hours:36
Course Number: 0353107
This course is about the history of design, especially the evolution of industry design ever since the industrial revolution, including various schools of design during different periods, design styles, renowned designers and the features of their works. Experience and lessons are drawn from the analysis. Students are required to grasp the knowledge of design history, develop the ability of dynamic analysis of industrial design at home and abroad, be able to predict the developing trend of industry design.
Ergonomics
Credit points: 4
Credit hours: 64
Course Number: 0353109
The research object of this course is the “man-product-environment” system, introducing the factors in anthropotomy, physiology and Psychology, the interaction between human beings, products and environment, and the ways to realize systematic efficiency of production, health, safety. Through theoretical study, human-computer interaction experiments, students are to grasp the basic theories, basic principles, research methods, and design methods of of Ergonomics, and as a result, students are to have the design ability in the “man-product-environment” system.
