IEC of Zhengzhou University of Light Industry locates in Zhengzhou, the capital city of Henan Province, which is in the legendary Central Plains. Zhengzhou is in the heartland of China with the Yellow River flowing by in its northern suburbs and is a historical city and the capital of nine dynasties. Zhengzhou is also graced with the nick name “the Green City” for its nice natural environment and thick greenery. This is also the hometown of Xuan Yuan, the first legendary Emperor of China. Today, Zhengzhou is the pivotal center of politics, economy, education, scientific research and culture.

In Jan. 2002, with the approval of the provincial education department, ZZULI launched its joint educational program with Wollongong University of Australia, which is the first educational program of its kind in Henan Province. The educational levels include 4-year undergraduates, post-graduate and later, 3-year undergraduates.

Since 2000, IEC, as a unit in charge of international joint education and the administration of daily teaching affairs, has successfully launched joint programs with universities of the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada. On the basis of the existing traditional education, IEC is the first in China to put forward the so-called dynamic joint education with foreign universities. Over the past decade, the courses and subjects are elaborately geared with social, economic and cultural need. The teaching staff are composed of teachers from Asia, Europe, North America and Australia, and domestic teachers as well. They have had very good exchanges in their teaching activities. Currently, the four modules of language, traditional courses, introduced courses and specialized courses are among the provincial classics. Henan is now gradually changing into a paradise of international investment, and IEC, with its unique composition of the courses, excellent staff and well-spoken-of education services, is contributing its dues to the regional economic growth more and more.

 

 

For a decade, IEC spares no efforts in its staff composition and build-up. Currently, IEC enjoys a staff of excellency. Most the team members have over-seas studying background and have gradually assumed leadership roles both in and out of the province. Staff members of IEC are active and innovative, both in academic teaching and in teaching administrations. Their research papers are finding their ways into internationally famous journals. They combine their innovative education ideas with Chinese traditional education which in turn contributes greatly to the education of students.
