Recently, ZZULI has held diverse cultural activities to promote cultural exchange, allowing our international students to intimately experience the festive atmosphere of the Chinese Lunar New Year, appreciate distinctive traditional arts, and immerse themselves in the rich heritage of Chinese culture.
Among them, the “Intangible Cultural Heritage-Themed New Year Festival” showcased a variety of traditional crafts and performances, including cloth tigers, ceramics, lacquerware, lion dance, movable-type printing, Chinese Hanfu attire, and paper cutting, in a bazaar-style exhibition. This attracted active participation from international students. “The Amazing Oracle Bone Inscriptions Activity” featured a range of engaging activities such as traditional Chinese recitation, oracle bone inscription flight chess, and distribution of oracle bone-themed cultural products and souvenirs, immersing students in the rich history and charm of Chinese characters. Moreover, during the “Creative Paper Cutting for Celebrating Intangible Cultural Heritage-Themed New Year”, participants gained firsthand experience with the art of paper cutting, creating exquisite window decorations to welcome the Chinese New Year of the Snake. In the “Putting up Spring Couplets on the New Year’s Eve”, international students and management staff collaborated to put up Spring couplets in the dormitories, with some students personally writing the couplets to deepen their appreciation of Chinese culture.
Through active interaction and cultural exchange, the international students not only experienced traditional Chinese customs during the Spring Festival, but also deepened their appreciation and affinity for Chinese culture. This made them feel warmly welcomed and cared for during the festival.
