Dr. Mohammad Wasiullah Khan, Chancellor of East-West University in America, and Ms. Mary, Director of International Projects in China, paid a friendly visit to ZZULI on May 20. Prof. Zhou Liming, Vice President of ZZULI, met with the guests. Attendees included responsible persons from the International Cooperation and Exchange Department.

On behalf of ZZULI, Zhou Liming extended a warm welcome to Dr. Mohammad Wasiullah Khan's visit, and also made a brief introduction to the progress of ZZULI in discipline development, talent training, and international cooperation and exchange. He stated that East-West University boasts multiple disciplines including electronic information, computer science, business administration and social work, which are highly compatible with the disciplines traditionally dominant in ZZULI, thus the two universities enjoy great potential for cooperation. He expressed his expectation that the two universities would deepen their cooperation in terms of mutual visits and exchanges of teachers and students, joint postgraduate training programs, and teaching and scientific research of faculty members, thereby jointly promoting the diversified and all-round development and cooperation between the two universities.

Dr. Mohammad Wasiullah Khan extended his gratitude for ZZULI’s warm reception, and also made a brief introduction to the development of East-West University. He spoke highly of ZZULI for its outstanding achievements, hoping that the two universities would attain more results of the cooperation. After the meeting, the two parties signed an intercollegiate cooperation agreement.

On the meeting day, the delegation paid a visit to key laboratories of the College of Electrical and Information Engineering, had a deeper discussion with the heads of the institution, and reached a consensus on short-term inter-academic exchange programs, scientific research cooperation, and teachers' lectures.

Profile of East-West University: East-West University is a private, non-profit, non-denominational college based in Chicago, Illinois. The university was founded in 1980. It offers two- and four-year degree programs and certificate programs. It offers associate and bachelor's degrees as well as English training for international students. There are now 100 faculty and staff members, 80% of whom have a PhD. At East-West University, classes have an impressively low student-teacher ratio of 15:1 and are taught in English.
