The Ministry of Education recently announced the Decision on Approving the 2022 Award-Winning Projects of the National Teaching Achievement Award. The Project titled Thirty Years of Striving: Innovation and Practice in Project-driven Modes for Cultivating Excellent Talents of Science and Engineering, independently completed by ZZULI and led by Professor Wang Yonghua, was awarded the second prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award in Higher Education (Undergraduate).

The National Teaching Achievement Award is granted every four years. It includes three categories: basic education, vocational education, and higher education (undergraduate and postgraduate). It is the highest recognition in education and teaching in China, serves as a review and showcase of the achievements in educational and teaching reform, and represents the highest level of educational and teaching reform in China. It is the second time that ZZULI won such an award since 2001, with an interval of 22 years. The teaching practice and research results achieved through this teaching reform reflect ZZULI’s dedication to the fundamental mission of fostering virtue, the continuous refinement of distinctive features of undergraduate education and teaching, and the commitment to promoting “high-quality education, high-level achievements, and high-standard construction”. They signify a breakthrough in the university’s educational and teaching reform in undergraduate programs and are included in the list of the landmark achievements in education and teaching of ZZULI during “the 14th Five-Year Plan” period.
