Recently, fifteen departments, including the Education Department of Henan Province, jointly issued the Notice on the Release of Project Initiation Units of Provincial Characteristic Industrial Colleges. Both the Industrial College of Tobacco Science and Engineering and the Industrial College of Electrical Equipment Intelligent Manufacturing recommended by ZZULI have been approved for the project initiation at provincial level.

As a significant measure, the construction of characteristic industrial colleges allows colleges and universities to provide education oriented toward regions and industries and enhance the capacity for scientific and technological innovation, to better serve the talent cultivation and accelerate the development of economy and society. The approved project initiation of characteristic industrial colleges provides a good platform for ZZULI to implement major strategies at national and provincial levels, develop regional leading industries, and raise the quality of talent cultivation.
