Recently, the Education Department of Henan Province issued the Notice on the Announcement of the Third Batch of Fine Traditional Chinese Culture Inheritance Bases in Henan Province and the First Batch of Physical Education and Aesthetic Education Infiltration Action Plan (JBTWY [2022] No. 187). The program of Central Plains Martial Arts (Zhongyuan Wushu) applied for by the College of Physical Education, ZZULI has been included in the list of the third batch of fine traditional Chinese culture inheritance bases. This is another achievement that ZZULI made after it was approved as the Ceramic Culture Inheritance Base in Henan Province.

ZZULI has been closely studying and implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s discourse on carrying forward fine traditional Chinese culture in recent years. The University is giving full play to its advantages and role in cultural inheritance and innovation among colleges and universities. Impressive achievements have been made in the promotion of fine traditional Chinese culture, foreign exchange and cooperation in the promotion of Chinese martial arts, integration of traditional martial arts programs into teaching, and inheritance and education of Central Plains martial arts culture. All these actions laid a solid foundation for ZZULI’s successful application for the fine traditional Chinese culture inheritance base in Henan Province.

ZZULI will advance the construction of the Central Plains Martial Arts Culture Inheritance Base. It will take practical measures in terms of course construction, construction of student societies, workshop construction, scientific research, radiation effect, and exhibition exchange. The base will be built into a feature and brand of ZZULI, bringing new vigor and vitality into the activation of folk traditional martial arts in Central China as well as the promotion and development of the Central Plains martial arts.
