Recently, the People’s Government of Henan Province issued a decision on the third Henan Provincial Patent Award. The patent for invention of “a garbage disposer for crushing bones and other organic substances” declared by Prof. Zhang Dehai from ZZULI won the third prize of the Henan Provincial Patent Award. It is the first time for ZZULI to win the award and ZZULI becomes one of the three universities selected for the third Henan Provincial Patent Award.

Established by the People’s Government of Henan Province, Henan Provincial Patent Award is evaluated once every two years. According to the “Patent Awarding Measures of Henan Province”, the number of special prize, first prize, second prize, and third prize to be awarded in each evaluation shall be not more than 2, 5, 18, and 25, respectively. ZZULI’s success was the result of emphasizing scientific and technological innovation, promoting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and strengthening the industry-university-research cooperation in recent years, which is of great significance in encouraging invention and promoting the protection and application of intellectual property rights. In the future, ZZULI will continue to adhere to scientific and technological innovation as a driving force, forge ahead and blaze new trails, strive to create more high-value patents to promote the transfer and transformation of patent achievements, and continuously enhance ZZULI’S scientific and technological innovation capacity, aiming to provide novel support for doctor development and build a higher-level characteristic key university.
