From July 29 to 31 at local time, the 19th Triennial Summit of the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) was held in Mexico. President Huang Rongjie attended the Summit via video link.
The Summit attracted a total of more than 400 colleges and universities from over 40 countries and regions around the world, with 50 presidents, experts and scholars from world famous universities in attendance. António Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, sent a letter to congratulate on the success of the Summit beforehand. In the Summit, surrounding “Innovation and Integration”, experts and scholars delivered special lectures and conducted exchanges and discussions on issues such as internationalization and development trends in higher education, innovation approaches for higher education as well as management system and financial support of higher education against the background of global COVID-19 pandemic.
Founded in 1964 in London, UK, IAUP is a federation of chief executives from worldwide colleges and universities. Currently, it has more than 600 members around the world. The Federation mainly aims to facilitate mutual understanding, exchange management experience, and promote exchanges and cooperation among colleges and universities.
