From June 23thto July6th, 17 international students from universities of America, Ireland, Korea as well as Australia arrived ZZULI to begin their 2-week Chinese Culture Summer Camp. International students experienced Chinese culture through visiting campus, experiencing traditional customs as well as interacting actions.
A brief opening ceremony was held on the 23th of June. FangShaoming, vice president of ZZULI, presented the ceremony and expressed welcome to the students on behalf of ZZULI. He expressed this Summer Camp activity will build a bridge which can connect ZZULI and different universities.After opening ceremony, international students made introduction and interacted with Chinese students.
This Summer Camp had abundant schedule and amply details. During this Summer Camp, students learned Chinese music. Through learning, students had a basic impression on Chinese instruments and felt the unique charm of Chinese music. In addition, students made the experience on traditional Chinese culture—Ceramics. After 2-time practice, the students studied hard and finished their own works. International students also experienced Chinese traditional shadow boxing—Tai Chi and Chinese paper cutting, students acquired both health benefits and spiritual entertainment.Moreover,17 international students experienced Chinese traditional tea culture. On June28th, Mr. Shao Yuanzhu gave an excellent calligraphy show and taught international students traditional Chinese calligraphy. Throughclasses, foreign students learned the basic elements of Chinese calligraphy.On June 30th, students interacted with Chinese students in Kexuecampus, they built their friendship through interacting games.
On July 2, the closing ceremony as well as farewell party was held in Dongfeng campus, as the representatives, Mr. Xu Hengzhen and relative Deans of ZZULI presented this closing ceremony. They awarded certificates and gifts for international students. With this, 2016 Chinese Culture Summer Camp of ZZULI finished successfully.
This 2-week SummerCamp laid a foundation for further international cooperation and communication activities between ZZULI and internationaluniversities. International students learned much about Chinese culture through cultural experience, visiting enterprise as well as local travel. The unique Chinese elements left a deep impression to them. Considering that success of this Summer Camp, International Cooperation and Exchange Department will continue to planfollowing activities and providebroader communicating platform for both teachers and students.
