Overview
In 2014, to continuously improve the quality of talent training, the university has carried out the optimization and integration of secondary colleges. The College of Building Environmental Engineering was established by combining the Building Electrical and Intelligence and the Building Environment and Energy Application Engineering.
At present, there are three undergraduate majors in the college: Building Electrical and Intelligence, Building Environment and Energy Application Engineering, and Safety Engineering. The college also has an Experimental Practice Teaching Center, Henan Engineering Research Center for Intelligent Building and Human Settlements, Henan Popular Science Education base, Zhengzhou Science and General Education base, and a secondary master's degree authorization point for building electrical and intelligence. The college now has more than 740 undergraduates and postgraduates. Our university is one of the first ten universities in China (also the first university in Henan province) to set up Building Electrical and Intelligence. In 2013, the specialty was approved as the pilot specialty of comprehensive reform in Henan Province, the key construction specialty of school-level first-class undergraduate specialty in 2019, and the national first-class specialty construction site in 2020.
Since its establishment, by vigorously implementing the measures of introduction and training, a high-quality teaching and scientific research team with reasonable knowledge and excellent professional was formed. At present, there are 49 teaching staff, including 34 full-time teachers, 32 with doctor's degree and senior professional title, 12 master's supervisors, 15 part-time professors from external enterprises. There are also 2 “Good Teacher” in Henan Province, 1 “Civilized Teacher” in Henan Province, 1 Teaching Pacesetter in Henan Province, and 2 outstanding communists of universities in Henan Province.
The college actively responds to the spirit of the Ministry of education, earnestly implements the requirements of national standards for undergraduate majors, adheres to the student-centered concept, and cultivates students with good ideological and moral quality, innovative spirit, practical ability to serve the economic development of the country and the Central Plains region.
Relying on the advantages of the construction industry, the college has formed professional advantages in the fields of building electrical, building intelligence, building public safety technology, and fire science and technology. Led by the Building Electrical and Intelligence, the college establishes off-campus joint training bases with more than 20 design enterprises. The college also hires part-time professors to take classes, guides graduation design, and holds a series of professional forum to strengthen the communication among teachers, students and enterprise personnel. More than 50% of students enter the enterprise to finish graduation design, actively participate in various actual project to improve students' engineering application and innovation ability.
In recent years, it has been approved one industry university cooperation collaborative education project and one first prize of teaching achievement in Henan Province. The students have won more than 50 national and provincial awards. Student collectives and individuals have successively won many honorary titles such as National University vitality League branch, Henan excellent class collective, Henan civilized student and Henan three good students. The employment rate of graduates is more than 96%, which is widely recognized by employers.
The college focuses on the construction of experimental platform, equipment and training platform, such as building information model laboratory, intelligent power supply and distribution laboratory, building intelligent system integration laboratory, HVAC laboratory, intelligent lighting laboratory, building detection and sensing laboratory, smoke control laboratory, fire laboratory. The instruments and equipment, with a total value of more than 10 million yuan, provide a good foundation for teaching, scientific research and related skills training of the college.
The college actively serves the needs of the state, local governments, industries and enterprises, and focuses on research in the fields of building electrical and energy-saving technology, building intelligence and system integration technology, building fire science and technology, etc. It has built an innovative science and technology team. In recent years, it has undertaken 5 national projects, more than 10 provincial and ministerial projects, more than 20 horizontal projects, scientific research funds of more than 10 million yuan, and won more than 10 provincial and ministerial scientific research awards. More than 70 academic papers were published with more than 20 papers included in SCI / EI / ISTP.
