Recently, live tournament of the Eighth National Undergraduate Smart Car Competition (North Division) held in Qinhuangdao. The six teams which are selected from our university competed against others from Beijing, Tianjin, Shanxi, Hebei, Henan and other five provinces (city), including Northeastern University at Qinhuangdao, overall 76 universities, 309 teams.After fierce competition, all our school teams won the rank, including two team won the first prize, second prize three teams, one team won the third prize. 

Smart car competition divided into 3 categories, including photoelectric balancing group, camera group, electromagnetic. According to the organizing committee regulations, each school can send two representatives in each category. We started to mobilize the faculty actively participating team in early 2013, the school organized a total of 17 teams participated in the school stage design, commissioning and preliminaries, after school selection, determine the six teams in the National sub-division game. 

Our school pays great attention to students’ academic competitions, the scales and competition results of discipline contest entries gradually increase. Early 2013, the school established electrical practical innovation platform in two separate campuses, which provides a good condition for more students to participate Electric practical innovation activities and selection of outstanding students to participate in competitions.

            Elite gathered in this smart car competition (North Division), our school in this race to achieve excellent results, fully reflects the overall strength of our students, reflects the deepening educational reform, strengthening students' innovative practical ability over the years.
