ZZULI Organized “2022 Chinese-Korean Speech Contest between Henan Province and Daegu & Gyeongsangbuk-do Regions of Korea”

The year 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the ROK. It is also the “China-ROK Year of Cultural Exchanges”. On June 24, the 2022 Chinese-Korean Final Speech Contest between Henan Province and Daegu & Gyeongsangbuk-do Regions of ROK and Award Ceremony, which was jointly sponsored by Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Henan Province, Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Pusan, the Education Department of Henan Province, Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Wuhan, Daegu Gwangyeoksi and Gyeongsangbuk-do, and organized by ZZULI and Daegu Catholic University, was successfully held via online and offline combination. Tu Jingchang, Deputy Consul-General of Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Pusan, and Ryu In Shik, Deputy Consul-General of Consulate-General of the Republic of Korea in Wuhan, addressed the contest, respectively. Leaders of ZZULI’s Office of International Relations attended the contest.

Twenty-nine students, who were selected by ZZULI, North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power, Daegu Catholic University, Kyungpook National University, Yeungnam University and Keimyung University from over 100 contestants of preliminary contest, contended for the awards.

Starting from the China-ROK friendship and culture, university students of the two sides talked about their thoughts and perceptions in the other party’ language regarding cultural exchanges, joint pandemic resistance, and cooperative development between China and ROK. Through the fierce competition, Ye Zhoudan from ZZULI’s School of Foreign Languages won the first prize of Korean Group; Wang Yuxin, Zhao Yizhen and Lu Xiaoxiao won the second prize of Korean Group; nine students, including Yao Yaning and Yang Shuoshuo, won the third prize of Korean Group. Xu Yingying, a teacher from ZZULI’s School of Foreign Languages, won the Excellent Guide Teacher Award.

ZZULI’s students achieved outstanding results in the speech contest. They demonstrated the elegant demeanor and extremely high professional level of university students, won honors for ZZULI, and displayed our international school-running characteristics and international exchange achievements.

The contest has effectively deepened the international exchanges and cooperation between ZZULI and well-known colleges and universities of Korea, strengthened the friendship of university students in China and Korea, and made contributions to the cultural exchanges between Henan Province and Daegu & Gyeongsangbuk-do regions of Korea.
