Recently, the 2026 International Conference on Design Innovation and Green Intelligent Manufacturing (DIGIM 2026) was convened. An unveiling ceremony for the Cultural Industry Committee of the World Eco-Design Organization (WEDO) was held during the conference. With its strong disciplinary foundation and innovative practices in design, Zhengzhou University of Light Industry (ZZULI) was elected Vice-Chairman Unit of the committee. The conference was guided by the WEDO, a UN NGO with Special Consultative Status, and hosted by the National Industrial Design Institute (Eco-Design).

Six faculties or schools from leading Chinese universities, including Guangdong University of Technology and Nanjing University of the Arts, were also elected as Vice-Chairman Units, while Jiangnan University was elected as the Chairman Unit. This honor represents both high-level international recognition of ZZULI's overall strength in design and a strong endorsement of its contributions to eco-design and cultural industry innovation. Taking this opportunity, ZZULI will further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with universities, research institutions and enterprises at home and abroad. It will actively engage in various initiatives under WEDO's Cultural Industry Committee and contribute to the advancement of the global eco-design and cultural industries.
