Recently, the Ministry of Education officially approved the extension of the term of the undergraduate Software Engineering program jointly offered by Zhengzhou University of Light Industry (ZZULI) and Fontys University of Applied Sciences (Fontys) in the Netherlands.
Under this approval, the program's enrollment period has been extended to 2031. This reflects the Ministry of Education's recognition of the program's educational quality and cooperation outcomes, laying a solid policy foundation for its long-term and stable operation. Meanwhile, the program's cultivation model has been upgraded from the original "4+0" single-degree format to a "3+1" dual-degree structure, which will significantly enhance the international recognition of students' qualifications and their employability.
Fontys is a leading public university in the Netherlands with a strong reputation across Europe. Since enrollment began in 2021, both sides have maintained sincere collaboration. The program has operated steadily, with continuous improvement in educational quality. Students from the program secured ZZULI's first gold award in the China International College Students' Innovation Competition. Among the first cohort of graduates, several were admitted to world-class universities, including the University of Sydney, and more than ten were accepted into postgraduate programs at leading Chinese institutions such as the Information Engineering University of the PLA Cyberspace Force.
