On March 23, 2026, Professor Jennifer Gazzard, International Partnerships Manager of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Strathclyde (UoS), UK, and Professor Richard Adams, Head of Undergraduate Programs of Design, Manufacturing and Engineering Management, visited Zhengzhou University of Light Industry (ZZULI) at the invitation. Relevant officials from the International Cooperation and Exchange Department, International Education College and College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of ZZULI attended the meeting.

The two sides reached a consensus on launching Sino-foreign cooperative undergraduate programs. They also conducted in-depth exchanges focusing on the alignment of related majors in the field of mechanical engineering and project application. The delegation visited the International Education College, the College of Electrical and Information Engineering and the School of Digital Technology and Innovation Design of ZZULI, and held face-to-face exchanges with faculty and undergraduate students in design-related fields. They delivered a detailed introduction to UoS’s distinctive educational features of industrial design programs and cooperation projects, and patiently answered students’ questions regarding academic studies, program fees, overseas living, and other related matters.

The University of Strathclyde is located in Glasgow, Scotland, the UK. It is a leading research-intensive technological university and was ranked 11th in the UK by The Times in 2026. UoS's core strength lies in engineering, design, and business, with its Mechanical Engineering program ranked among the top 10 in the UK and the Industrial and Product Design program ranked 2nd in the UK and 1st in Scotland. This visit by the UoS delegation has further strengthened ties between the two universities, and played an important role in promoting ZZULI's international education level and cultivating high-quality talents.
