On the morning of January 22, President Wei Shizhong and Vice President Zhang Cheng of Zhengzhou University of Light Industry (ZZULI) met with Professor Luciano Barboni, Representative of the Rector of the University of Camerino and Coordinator for Non-EU Affairs, at the Kexue Campus. Both sides engaged in a cordial conversation. Heads from the International Cooperation and Exchange Department and the International Education College attended.

President Wei extended a sincere welcome to Professor Barboni and conveyed warm greetings to Rector Graziano Leoni of the University of Camerino. He stated that, building upon its successful implementation of high-quality Sino-foreign cooperative education programs in food science and engineering, ZZULI will proactively advance the establishment of Camerino College, a bachelor's degree-granting institution, to advance two-way faculty and student exchanges and research collaboration between the two universities.

Mr. Luciano Barboni expressed gratitude to President Wei for the reception, conveyed Rector GrazianoLeoni's greetings, and articulated the University of Camerino's shared vision and commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation. He affirmed ZZULI as the University of Camerino's most valued strategic partner. Moving forward, he will take all efforts to enhance the all-round partnership between both institutions, encompassing collaborative education programs, faculty and student exchanges, and co-innovation in scientific research.

In addition, during the visit, the two sides conducted detailed consultations on institutional declaration, overseas education programs, student exchanges, scientific research cooperation, and other relevant issues.

Since 2014, ZZULI has maintained close high-level interaction and faculty and student exchanges with the University of Camerino. To date, the two institutions have jointly cultivated over 20 doctoral candidates, co-established the Henan International Joint Laboratory, co-organized multiple academic forums, and jointly published 57 papers in international journals. These efforts effectively promoted collaborative innovation in food science, chemical engineering, and design.
