On January 14, 2025, at the invitation of the College of Food and Bioengineering and the Key Laboratory of Cold Chain Food Processing and Safety Control, Ministry of Education (Cultivation), Professor Deog-Hwan Oh from Kangwon National University of Korea visited Zhengzhou University of Light Industry (ZZULI) to deliver an academic lecture. The lecture was held in Room 211, Building of Food and Bioengineering. It was presided over by Zhang Hua, Dean of the College. Faculty members and graduate students from relevant disciplines attended.

Professor Deog-Hwan Oh's presentation, titled "Microbial Approaches to Food Safety and Health Promotion", introduces the current status of foodborne pathogens and green safety control measures. It elucidated the pathogenic mechanisms of foodborne pathogens, drawing on the application scenarios of physical and chemical intervention technologies. Furthermore, it introduced related electrolytic preparation and rapid detection technologies, establishing a new technical approach for the precise prevention and control of foodborne pathogens. In addition, Professor Deog-Hwan Oh engaged in a discussion with faculty and students of the College on the positive role of probiotics and their metabolites in regulating intestinal microecological balance to strengthen the body's immune barrier and prevent chronic metabolic diseases. This exchange has promoted international exchanges and cooperation for the College, and holds positive significance for enhancing the academic influence of food science and engineering.
