

At the invitation of the Russian International Olympic University (RIOU), Dr. Li Hongxin, associate professor of the College of Physical Education, gave an online lecture titled "Sport in China: Government Reform and Development Strategies,"on December 5 for teachers and students in the RIOU's Master in Sports Administration (MSA) program and scholars in the field of international sports administration.
During his lecture, Dr. Li Hongxin outlined the trajectory of sports reform in China and the governance system of "government-led, diversified collaboration." He expounded on three strategic directions, including the coordinated development of competitive and professional sports, the role of digital technologies in the sports industry, and the revitalization of social sports organizations. In addition, he introduced the contributions of Beijing, China's "Dual Olympic City," to global sports governance, which provided China's solutions for the sustainable development of sports worldwide.
Russian International Olympic University was established in 2009, under the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin and supported by the International Olympic Committee. It is the world's first university dedicated to training professionals for the Olympic movement. As a tangible cultural legacy of the Sochi Winter Olympics, RIOU aims to train high-level administration professionals for the sports industry. The RIOU's MSA program is offered in English and features experts and scholars from countries including the United Kingdom, Canada, and France.
