Recently, Professor Wu Xuehong from the College of Energy and Power Engineering published a research paper titled Integrating Boron Nitride and Hydroxylated Graphene in Phase-Change Films for Flexible Electronics Cooling in the journal Carbon (Impact Factor: 11.6), a leading publication in the energy field. Professor Wu is the first author, with Zhengzhou University of Light Industry listed as the first affiliation.

With the rapid development of flexible electronics, the demand for high-performance, flexible thermal interface materials (TIMs) has been steadily growing. In this study, the research team developed a high-performance composite phase-change film through rational design and experimental validation, effectively overcoming key limitations of conventional phase-change materials in electronic thermal management, such as low mechanical strength, leakage at elevated temperatures, and performance degradation after repeated thermal cycling. By constructing a three-dimensional thermal conduction network within a PLA/PEG matrix, the composite phase-change film not only demonstrated significantly enhanced mechanical strength but also exhibited excellent thermal stability and high thermal conductivity. Moreover, the composite phase-change film exhibited excellent photothermal conversion and thermal buffering properties, offering broad application prospects in areas such as solar thermal utilization, heat dissipation for flexible electronic devices, and smart textiles. This work provides new insights and material options for advancing the thermal management of flexible electronics.

In recent years, Professor Wu Xuehong has published a series of research papers on phase-change energy storage technology and its engineering applications. These papers appeared in recognized international journals, including Renewable Energy (Impact Factor: 9.0), Journal of Energy Storage (Impact Factor: 9.8), and International Communications in Heat and Mass Transfer (Impact Factor: 6.4). This line of research has been funded and supported by the Key R&D Program of Henan Province, the Central Plains Science and Technology Innovation Leading Talents Program, and other programs.
