The 41st IAHR World Congress was held in Singapore from June 22 to 27. The conference was jointly organized by theIAHR, the Singapore Public Utilities Board, the National University of Singapore, and Nanyang Technological University. Over 1,400 participants from more than 60 countries attended the event. Professor Zhang Xiaojing from the School of Materials and Chemical Engineering at our university was invited to attend and present an academic report.
The conference, themed“Innovative Water Engineering for Sustainable Development,” aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue, facilitate the exchange of cutting-edge knowledge, and explore innovative solutions to address the multifaceted challenges posed by water resource management and climate change. Professor Zhang delivered a presentation titled “Synergistic Removal of Emerging Pollutants and Nitrogen in Anammox System: Performance and Mechanism” during the session on “New Treatment Technologies for Wastewater.” This study systematically investigated the synergistic removal efficiency and underlying mechanisms of emerging pollutants and nitrogen within the anammox system. The innovative findings sparked intense discussions and received high praise from the attending experts.
This academic exchange highlighted ZZULI’s latest research advancements in environmental engineering, contributing positively to the enhancement of our academic reputation and the visibility of our research outcomes. Furthermore, it provided a valuable platform for fostering academic communication and advancing the development of related disciplines.
