Zhengzhou University of Light Industry (ZZULI) hosted the 2025 International Student Graduation Ceremony at Lecture Hall 130, Teaching Building 2 on the afternoon of 13 June. The event was chaired by He Ning, Associate Dean of International Education College, and attended by faculty members including Tan Hongling, Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Department, and Gao Jianqi, Party Secretary of International Education College, as well as the entire international student cohort.

In her address, Ms. Tan extended sincere congratulations on behalf of the university to 33 graduating international students from seven countries for their remarkable accomplishments. She emphasized that this is not an end, but a new beginning, and encouraged students to become cultural ambassadors, fostering cultural exchanges and global understanding.

Mr. Gao Jianqi reflected on the students' year of cross-cultural engagements enriched by activities such as "Hello, Henan Opera" program, International Chinese Language Day, speech competitions, "Tell China's Stories in English" initiative, and traditional experiences like making Zongzi and pottery. He encouraged the graduates to act as storytellers of China's culture, sharing authentic and vivid stories of China, especially Henan, with their communities and beyond and playing their part in fostering mutual understanding and a shared global future.

Faculty representative Liu Zhu and student representative Misa delivered speeches, reflecting on the impressive experiences and growth of the academic year, acknowledging the university's dedication to language instruction and cross-cultural learning.

Then, Ms. Tan and Mr. Gao presented the "Outstanding International Student" honor to ten graduates in recognition of their academic excellence, followed by the conferral of graduation certificates to each student. The ceremony concluded with a commemorative group photo of attending officials, faculty members, and graduates in front of the teaching building.

Since launching its international student program in 2018, ZZULI has seen steady growth in enrollment and remarkable gains in Chinese language instruction. In 2025, a number of international students passed the HSK Level 4 and 5 exams and were admitted to undergraduate and graduate programs at nearly 10 Chinese universities, including Harbin Institute of Technology, Chongqing Medical University, and Hubei University of Technology. The International Education College's commitment to curriculum design, teaching quality, and academic development is driving its efforts to build the "Study at ZZULI" brand and share China's story globally.
