From January 16 to 21, the World Robot Contest Finals 2024 was successfully held at ZZULI. This contest was hosted by the Chinese Institute of Electronics (CIE) and Zhengzhou Municipal People’s Government, and was organized by the Administration Committee of Zhengzhou Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone and Henan Institute of Electronics. Over 10,000 contestants from 15 categories, including Leading BCI New Energy and VEX Series, gathered at ZZULI. The Secretary of the Party Committee Huang Rongjie attended the open ceremony, while ZZULI President Wei Shizhong and Vice President Zhou Liming visited the competition venue to provide guidance.

Since 2015, the World Robot Contest has successfully held nine editions, comprising the World Robot Contest Tryouts (WRCT), World Robot Contest Championships (WRCC), and World Robot Contest Finals (WRCF). To date, the contest has attracted over 500,000 contestants from more than 20 countries worldwide. Widely regarded as the “Olympics” of the global robotics community, this competition has achieved international recognition and mutual acknowledgment of results across multiple events.

The event has established a platform for exchange and cooperation between the technology and industry communities, bringing new opportunities for industrial development in Zhengzhou and serving as a golden opportunity to promote our institution to the public. In addition, we offered a venue of over 20,000 square meters, set up a dedicated logistics support team, and recruited more than 100 enthusiastic young volunteers committed to various support services in the event. The elegant environment, standardized venues, systematic organization, and thoughtful services have all been highly praised by both the competition organizers and contestants.

We will leverage the development of emerging industries, such as global artificial intelligence and new-generation information technology, as an opportunity to deepen the integration of industry, technology, and education. Our focus will be on cultivating students’ innovative and practical abilities, thereby supplying our country with more high-quality talent that aligns closely with industry needs and integrates seamlessly into the global context.
