On the morning of June 12, the opening ceremony of the 2024 Meet You in Henan Summer Camp organized by Zhengzhou University of Light Industry (ZZULI) was successfully held in the first conference room of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at the Science Campus. Vice President Zhang Cheng attended the opening ceremony. Attendees also included officials from the International Cooperation and Exchange Department and other relevant departments, 26 teachers and students from Spain, Poland, South Korea, Iraq, Iran, Thailand, and Indonesia, as well as student volunteers from ZZULI.

Zhang Cheng, on behalf of the university, warmly welcomed the young students participating in the summer camp and gave a profile of ZZULI. He stated that the university attaches great importance to international exchange and cooperation, maintaining good relationships with partner institutions. This summer camp is a fruitful result of previous intercollegiate cooperation and exchanges. He also emphasized that Henan is a significant birthplace of the Chinese nation and civilization, where everyone can experience the profoundness and grandeur of Chinese culture up close. Participants will have the opportunity to taste traditional Henan cuisine and experience traditional Chinese arts such as dough sculpture, paper cutting, traditional Chinese painting, and bamboo weaving, appreciating the wisdom and diligence of the Chinese people. He expressed his hope that everyone would find joy in their travels, gain meaningful experiences, and acquire new knowledge during the summer camp, and share these wonderful memories with more young friends abroad. 

Student representatives from our university, as well as international students participating in the summer camp, each gave speeches introducing their respective countries and universities, and sharing their campus life and hobbies. They expressed their joy and anticipation for the upcoming Henan cultural experience tour.

After the opening ceremony, the attending leaders and participants took a group photo. Following this, everyone toured the campus, library, the university’s featured achievements exhibition hall, and the School of Electronics and Information.
