The 2023 State Science and Technology Awarding Meeting was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on June 24, 2024. The project titled Common Key Technologies and Standard System of Digital-twin-driven Operation & Maintenance Management and Control for Complex Equipment, which Prof. Li Hao from the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, ZZULI, participated in, won the second prize of State Science and Technology Progress Award for the year 2023.

The project, initiated by Prof. Tao Fei at Beihang University, is the result of nearly 10 years of joint efforts by the team led by Prof. Li Hao with more than 10 institutions, including Beihang University, Shandong University, Beijing Research Institute of Automation for Machinery Industry, and Southeast University. They have worked together to develop a theoretical and standard system of digital twins for complex equipment as a breakthrough in common key technologies such as digital twin-based abnormal monitoring, fault prediction, and operation & maintenance control decision-making for complex equipment. The system can be applied to the operation and maintenance control of key equipment in aerospace, engineering and logistics, transforming operation and maintenance of China's complex equipment from periodic to predictive.

The digital twin research team of ZZULI is one of the initiators of the Academic Conference on Digital Twin and Intelligent Manufacturing Services and one of the founders of the Digital Twin Professional Committee of the China Graphics Society. The team consists of 12 core members. Taking advantage of ZZULI's scientific research platforms such as Henan Key Laboratory of Intelligent Manufacturing of Mechanical Equipment and Henan Digital Twin Engineering Research Center for Complex Mechanical Systems, it has worked on digital twin modeling and simulation optimization, digital twin and AI, man-machine interaction and safety management. ZZULI has developed industrial digital twin system applications with Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Zhengzhou Coal Mining Machinery, CITIC Heavy Industries and other companies, serving as an active participant and catalyst in the development, application and implementation of international and national standards for digital twins. The project titled Key Technologies and Applications of Digital Twins for High-end Equipment with 'Human-Machine-Environment' System led by Prof. Li Hao, won the first prize of Henan Technological Invention for the year 2023.
