On November 20 to 21, 2023 International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application (Henan) - Cold-Chain Food Processing and Safety Parallel Session was held in Zhengzhou. Under the guidance of the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Henan Province, the Session was hosted by the National Center for Schooling Development Programme and the Education Department of Henan Province, and organized by Zhengzhou University of Light Industry (ZZULI) and Key Laboratory of Cold Chain Food Processing and Safety Control, Ministry of Education (Cultivation). Diao Yuhua, Party Member, Deputy Director-General and First-level Inspector of the Education Department of Henan Province, and Prof. Wei Shizhong, President of ZZULI, attended and addressed the opening ceremony. Prof. Bai Yanhong, Vice President, presided over the opening ceremony.

With the theme of Integration and Innovation for a Green Future, this Session has focused on the synergistic integration of education, science and technology, and industry, and exchanged the cutting-edge academic results of green processing and safety control of cold-chain food in the new era, to promote international exchanges and cooperation and to seek solutions for the innovative development of cold-chain food industry.

Diao Yuhua expressed in his speech that the CPC Henan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Henan Province attach great importance to the development of higher education and the integration of industry, education, research and application. Henan is implementing the ten strategies such as Being driven by innovation, invigorating Henan through science and education, and strengthening Henan with talents, and is striving to develop a national innovation highland and a leading talent center to support the high-quality construction of a modernized Henan.

Wei Shizhong said in his speech that ZZULI's organization of this meeting is the inheritance and manifestation of the traditional advantageous and characteristic disciplines of the university. He also expressed that ZZULI will take this event as an opportunity to focus on the advantageous areas of cold-chain food processing and safety, vigorously build a synergistic innovation system with the integration of industry, education, research and application, lay emphasis on the key core technologies, and strengthen the synergistic research and development to make greater contributions to the innovation and development of the cold-chain food industry.

Zhu Beiwei, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and Professor at Dalian Polytechnic University, delivered a keynote speech. Experts and scholars from Northeast Agricultural University, Korea University, University of Saskatchewan in Canada, University of Camerino in Italy, Chinese Meat and Food Comprehensive Research Center, Henan Shuanghui Investment & Development Co., Ltd., and other domestic and foreign universities, scientific research institutes and enterprises made reports and conducted an in-depth discussion on the theme.

The conference has been completed successfully. It lays a foundation for the construction of a platform for cooperation and docking between domestic and foreign universities, scientific research institutes and enterprises, and strongly promotes the high-quality development of the cold-chain food industry and the deep integration of industry, education, research and application.
