ZZULI-OU Intelligent Engineering Joint Institute

Approved by the Ministry of Education in April 2023, ZZULI-OU Intelligent Engineering Joint Institute is a collaborative institution jointly established by Zhengzhou University of Light Industry(ZZULI)P. R. China and Oakland UniversityUSA.

The Joint Institute offers dual-degree programs in Artificial Intelligence, Vehicle Engineering and Automation. Students who successfully complete the courses and meet the degree awarding criteria of both parties, shall be granted Bachelor Degrees and Undergraduate Diplomas of ZZULI and the bachelor’s degree of Oakland University. It is not necessary for students to study in the USA to obtain bachelor’s degree of Oakland University, and the certificate of bachelor degree conferred by Oakland University to the students in the Institute will be identical to those conferred in the USA.

Integrating excellent education resources of both parties (including teaching faculties, curricula, textbooks, teaching methods and techniques, quality assurance as well as administrative experiences, etc.), the Joint Institute aims to establish a high level international educational institution in the field of engineering and technology by introducing ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accredited courses focused on intelligent engineering and, to cultivate outstanding new engineering and international talents equipped with an international outlook, global awareness, and basic professional engineering knowledge and skills. This will result in advantages for international competition and cooperation, Sino-American people-to-people communication as well as enhancing the international influence of both parties.

 

The introduction of the Programs:

l  Artificial Intelligence Program: To adapt to the needs of the world’s economic and social development, the program aims to cultivate internationalized high-quality applied talents who have humanistic and social science literacy, engineering professional ethics, social responsibility, international vision, and engineering practice experience, have the capabilities to resolve complex engineering problems with the comprehensive use of knowledge and technology, are competent for artificial intelligence related research and application, system development and technology application, have innovative spirit, lifelong learning and teamwork ability.

l  Vehicle Engineering Program: To enable the program students to master basic theories, knowledge and skills in vehicle engineering. To support the program students to develop the ability of using international language. To encourage the program students to develop an international perspective, get basic training of engineering, and have the ability to be engaged in complex projects. To develop program students' ability to work in vehicle design, manufacturing, inspection and control, operation management, sales and the related fields of vehicle engineering, cultivate students as international high-quality applied talents with innovative spirit and practical ability.

l  Automation Program: To enable the program students to master basic theories, knowledge and skills in natural sciencesengineering and automation. To support the program students to develop the ability of using international language and computer application. To encourage the program students to develop an international perspective, get basic training of engineering, and have the ability to be engaged in complex projects. To develop program students’ ability to work in intelligent manufacturing, systems integration, technical services, project management and the related fields of automation engineering, cultivate students as international high-quality applied talents with innovative spirit and practical ability.
