The Advanced Materials and Intelligent Manufacturing Forum took place on September 23-24 at the Kexue Campus of Zhengzhou University of Light Industry (ZZULI). The forum was chaired by Prof. Alan LAU, President of THei.
During the forum, more than ten academicians and experts from both domestic and international backgrounds delivered a series of high-caliber presentations focusing on advanced materials, emerging technologies, and scientific and technological innovation. Among them, Prof. Rodrigo Martins, Academician of the Portuguese Academy of Engineering, delivered a presentation titled “Reliable Electronic Products Beyond Silicon”. Prof. Zheng Yuguo, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering presented on “Bio-Manufacturing - Innovative Models of Material Production”. Prof. Zhu Meifang, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences delivered a speech on the “Research and Application of Advanced Fiber Materials”. Prof. Pierre Braunstein, Academician of the French Academy of Sciences and German National Academy of Sciences, delivered a presentation on “Metal-Ligand Synergism in Molecular Chemistry and its Applications in Materials Science”. Prof. Subhash. Rakheja, Academician of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, gave a speech titled “Mechanistic Modeling and Applications of Magnetically Active Materials”. And Prof. Federico Rosei, Academician of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, presented on “Multifunctional Materials for Emerging Technologies”.
In recent years, under the leadership of the CPC Henan Provincial Committee and the People’s Government of Henan Province, ZZULI has pragmatically positioned itself, leveraged its strengths, and implemented four strategic initiatives: “Advantage Re-engineering” for light industry disciplines, “Changing Path and Leading the Way” for new engineering sciences, “Linkage and Quality Improvement” for scientific research, and “Enabling Effectiveness” for industry, academia, research, and application. These efforts actively support the Ten Major Strategies of Henan. In the next phase, it will seize this forum as an opportunity to further enhance academic exchanges and collaborations. It will fully leverage its distinctive advantages, with a primary focus on advanced materials and intelligent manufacturing as the main thrust for innovation and breakthroughs. The university will vigorously establish a synergistic innovation ecosystem that integrates industry, academia, research, and application. This initiative will prioritize critical core technologies, concentrate elite resources, intensify collaborative efforts, and strive to achieve significant breakthroughs. The goal is to make fresh and substantial contributions to advanced materials and intelligent manufacturing in Henan, China, and even the world.
