The 4th International Symposium of Food Science and Nutrition Health Hosted by ZZULI

With the coming of the seventh National Science and Technology Workers’ Day in China, the 4th International Symposium of Food Science and Nutrition Health, co-hosted by Dalian Polytechnic University, Nanjing Agricultural University, and Zhengzhou University of Light Industry, and co-organized by National Engineering Research Center of Seafood, State Key Laboratory of Marine Food Processing and Safety Control, and China-Canada Joint Lab of Food Nutrition and Health (Beijing), was held in Dalian recently.

Themed “Spotlighting New Findings in Food Technology, Creating a New Future for Nutritional Health”, the event was attended by over 900 experts, scholars, and entrepreneurs from more than 100 colleges and universities related to food science and nutritional health and food-related well-known enterprises, including University of Kentucky, University of Maryland, UC Davis, University of Tennessee, and University of Massachusetts in America, Memorial University of Newfoundland in Canada, Jiangnan University in China, China Agricultural University, Nanchang University, and South China University of Technology. The Symposium consists of theme forum, special forum, young scholar forum, doctoral forum, master forum, and undergraduate forum. Twenty-one people, including Prof. Bai Yanhong, Vice President of ZZULI, Prof. Zhang Hua, Dean of College of Food and Bioengineering, ZZULI, and relevant teachers, master degree candidates, and undergraduates from the college, attended the Symposium. They were invited to deliver academic reports at the scholar forum, the master forum, and the undergraduate forum respectively. A number of academic posters were displayed, which demonstrated ZZULI’s up-to-date academic research achievements in food science and engineering in multiple dimensions.

During the Symposium, attendees from ZZULI held lively discussions with experts and scholars at home and abroad with respects to “food processing theory and technology”, “precision nutrition and health”, and “nutritious and healthy food development and creation”. The Symposium promoted the foreign cooperation and exchanges of ZZULI. Meanwhile, the discipline construction of ZZULI’s doctoral programs and the platform construction of the MOE Key Laboratory of Cold Chain Food Processing and Safety Control were publicized positively, and received widespread attention from participating delegates and people in relevant fields.
