Recently, the Annual Report on Commercialization of China’s Scientific and Research Findings in 2021 (Higher Education Institutions and Research Institutes) was released in Beijing. According to the Report, in the ranking of the contract amounts of scientific and research findings commercialized by transferring, licensing, evaluation investment and technology development, consulting and service in higher education institutions in 2020, ZZULI ranked 71^st in China and 2^nd in Henan Province with 253,493,800 yuan. In the ranking of the contract amounts of scientific and research findings commercialized by transferring, licensing and evaluation investment in higher education institutions in 2020, ZZULI ranked 30^th in China and 1^st in Henan Province with 76,840,000 yuan. This is the 4^th straight year in which ZZULI was listed in the top 100 national universities in terms of contract amounts of commercialization of scientific and research findings.

The ability to commercialize scientific and research findings is an important criterion for measuring a higher education institution's social contribution and scientific research output and a key indicator to evaluate the construction effectiveness of the “Double-First Class” initiative. In recent years, ZZULI has attached great importance to such commercialization, closely focused on the national innovation-driven development strategy and the layout of local economic development, adhered to the industry-university-research cooperation, and centered on industry technology needs. ZZULI has built a system of “one center, three stations and multiple carriers” for finding commercialization and technological transfer, serving Dongfeng, Kexue and Yuzhou campuses, ZZULI Research Institute of Industrial Technology, ZZULI Research Institute of Jun Porcelain Industrial Technology, ZZULI Research Institute of Tobacco Industrial Technology, national-level makerspace, the National University Science Park of Henan Province and other incubation and maturation carriers, which have played the role of a bridge to promote the pilot test and application, and strongly promoted the finding commercialization of ZZULI. The University has established 51 ministerial and provincial discipline platforms including two collaborative innovation centers of Henan Province, and undertaken more than 4,000 scientific research projects in vertical and horizontal directions such as projects of National Science and Technology Infrastructure Program, National Natural Science Foundation of China and National Social Science Fund of China. It has signed cooperation agreements with Zhengzhou City, Xuchang City, Puyang City, and Jiyuan City, developed strategic alliances with tobacco enterprises including Hongta Group, and maintained long-term and in-depth cooperation with large enterprises in light industry and related fields such as Sanquan, Shuanghui and other well-known food enterprises, as well as Frestec, Haier and other famous home appliance enterprises.

In the future, ZZULI will continue to take serving national strategies as the starting point, improve its level of scientific and technological innovation, develop a sound scientific and technological innovation system, and further enhance the ability to serve society, aiming to make new achievements and contributions to society constantly.
