The College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering offers the bachelor of engineering degree in Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering, which is the in-depth integration of advanced manufacturing technology and new generation information technology and runs through all links in the entire life cycle of product design, manufacturing, and service. It is a new engineering major opened by Chinese universities in 2017 for conforming to “Industry 4.0” and “Made in China 2025”. The department of Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering for the Zhengzhou University of Light Industry (ZZULI) was founded in 2019. With the rapid development in recent three years, the department has 7 teachers (7 teachers with doctoral degree) and 149 undergraduates. The main subjects of specialty are Mechanical Engineering, Control Science and Engineering, Computer Science and Technology.
The core courses are Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Foundation, Industrial Robots and Applications, Sensors and Intelligent Detection Technology, Numerical Control Technology, Intelligent Production System Modeling and Simulation, Intelligent Production Plan Management and so on.
Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering students are trained to become versatile engineering graduates who can use cutting-edge engineering knowledge, computational, experimental, and analytical techniques to design, implement and improve technology-based manufacturing systems. It focuses on the technological, analytical, and managerial skills of integrating different technologies in intelligent manufacturing systems. The graduates would have a good understanding of the high-end technology and managerial skills of manufacturing system fitting “Made in China 2025” and are able to utilize systems concepts and tools to analyze real-world issues in industry with massive amounts of data and information.
The bachelor graduate of this major has basic scientific research ability in Intelligent Manufacturing for achieving jobs in traditional manufacturing industry and emerging technology-oriented enterprises.
