On April 14th, Professor Zhu Beiwei,academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and doctoral supervisorof the School of Food and Biological Engineering of Dalian Polytechnic University, delivered a lecture titled The Innovation and Development of China Food Nutrition and Health Industry in ZZULI. Shi Hengzhen, Party Secretary of ZZULI, Zhao Weidong, president of ZZULI, Mao Duobin and Wang Xinjie, vice president of ZZULI, met the Professor Zhu before the lecture.
Secretary Shi expressed warm welcome to Professor Zhu on behalf of ZZULI and showed thanks for her supports and helps in the development of ZZULI. Mr. Shi said that ZZULI is on the right developing track and what ZZULI now needs is the high level talents like Ms Zhu. Mr. Shi extended his gratitude for Ms. Zhu’s support and help when she was employed as a part-time academician by ZZULI. President ZhaoWeidongsaid that Food Science and Engineering discipline plays a key role in ZZULI’s endeavor to apply for the conferring of Ph.D. He hoped that Ms. Zhu can give more help and support to ZZULI. Academician Zhu said she was pleased to notice the outstanding achievements ZZULI has made in scientific research, discipline construction as well as the faculty training. She also put forward valuable advices on construction of doctoral station,leading academic researchers. She said that she would like to strengthen the cooperation and would try her best to help ZZULI.
After the meeting, Academician Zhu, accompanied by Vice President Mao Duobin,delivered a lecture for teachers and students from the College of Food Engineering.The lecture focused on the change of human dietary structure, the development trend of food industry as well as the control of the food safety. Both teachers and students benefited a lot from the plain language and innovative thinking modes in this lecture.
