Overview
College of Software Engineering , Zhengzhou University of light industry, is approval to construct by Henan provincial government, which first enrollment is begun in 2004. It belongs to Zhengzhou University of light industry directly, and is the model vocational technique college of software established in the first batch in Henan province. Also it is one of the cultivation bases of technical shorted talents in the professional area of computer application and software technology confirmed by ministry of information industry and ministry of Education. The software engineering specialty is admitted as the cultivation plan specialty of distinct engineer by ministry of education in 2013.
There are three departments and two centers established by college: teaching department of software technology, teaching department of network technology, teaching department of computer application technology, experimental teaching center, and comprehensive practical training center of software engineering. There are over 2000 students of undergraduate and junior college in the college. “Three plus one” mode is adopted for undergraduate students who can enter into the enterprise or into the study of practical training alternatively in the fourth academic year. “1.5 plus 0.5” mode is adopted for junior college students who will enter into enterprise or college to do practical training in the forth semester in order to make students to have plenty of experience of practical project. Initial employment rate keeps above 90% for undergraduate and junior college students.
There are dual-qualification teacher teams composed of full time, part time, external teacher of enterprise in college. Here there are 15 professor or vice professor, 10 senior programmer, 3 senior engineer of software performance testing, 6 Microsoft certificated teachers, 5 java certificated teachers, 4 Cisco certificated teachers of network technology, 5 network security technology certificated teachers. Education reform is actively promoted by Software Engineering College, adjusting the specialty structure and teaching material, enforcing the practical education aspect, promoting the project-driven teaching mode, introducing all kinds of excellent talents to teach in college who have plenty of engineering practice experience and advanced education background, sending teachers to accept training regularly to study the new knowledge, new technology, new methodology and merge them into educating system in time.
