College of Computer and Communication Engineering was founded in July 1996, with the original name of Department of Computer Science and Engineering merged into by the Computer Teaching and Research Office of Department of Control Engineering, the Computer Center, and the New Technology Research Institute on the basis of the specialty of Computer Application and Maintenance (which began its enrollment in 1985). With the development of disciplines and specialties, it was renamed its present name in 2003.
At present, Department of Computer and Communication Engineering offers 1 Master’s degree specialty: computer application technology; 3 specialties for undergraduates: computer science and technology, electronic information science and technology, communication engineering; 3 three-year schooling specialties: electronic information science, computer information management, computer application. The department is home to 2100 students. It has 63 well—educated staff, and among them are 14 professors and associate professors.
