School of Food and Biological Engineering is one of the earliest departments since the establishment of ZZILI. With the rapid development of the institute, the FBD has been growing steadily since its establishment. In recent years, adhering to the spirit of democracy, credibility, practicality, and innovation, it is going forward by leaps and bounds on the way of construction and development with a more energetic appearance. It has been honored as the outstanding department in the Institute for two years running.
At present, there are 3 undergraduate specialties (including 5 undergraduate majors), 3 master’s degree programs, and 1 subject under the leadership of provincial chair professor. The number of teaching and administrative staff has reached to more than 50. Compared with 100 students in the department at the very beginning of its founding, now the department has over 1000 students on campus. Through unremitting efforts and accumulation for many years, the FBD has set up a good foundation for the declaration right to offer doctoral degree.
