The department of vehicle engineering for the Zhengzhou University of Light Industry (ZZUIT) was founded in 2015, which offers one undergraduate specialty: vehicle engineering. With the rapid development in recent three years, the department has 7 teachers (6 teachers with doctoral degree) and 119 undergraduates. The main subjects of specialty are Vehicle Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics. The core courses are Automobile Theory, Automotive Design, Automobile Manufacturing Technology, Bus Body Design, Electric Vehicle Motor Technology, Mechanical Design, Mechanical Principles, Theoretical Mechanics, and so on.
Since the foundation of department, the department of vehicle engineering has carried out comprehensive construction and development highlighting the original research of vehicle engineering. Based on the spirits of the “21st century-oriented” teaching reformation put forth by the State Ministry of Education, the department carries on the new requirements of market economy for talents training: To professional education as the basis, to the quality of education as the core. On the education of traditional vehicle engineering, the teaching of department focuses on the comprehensive application ability and originality of the student cultivation, and takes the training for higher quality engineers of vehicle engineering as its responsibility.

Through this course, students master the working principle of automobile and operation performance, which lay a solid foundation for the future work.
