Physics is a discipline of natural science, which studies the basic structure, mutual interaction and basic movement form of matters. Its elementary theories and research methods are the foundation of other natural sciences, which are widely used in all the domains of natural science.

College Physics, which takes the foundation of basic physics as its main contents, is one of the compulsory basic courses for the students of mathematics and applied mathematics. The basic concepts, theories and methods of the course are essential to improving students’ scientific awareness to be qualified for their research and engineering career.

Through this course, students would have systematical understanding of basic concepts, theories and methods of Physics, and establish firm foundation for further scientific studies. In all phases of the course, analytical thinking and problem solving problems should be emphasized, in order to encourage students’ ability to discover and innovate.
