In 2003, a fundamental chemical and chemical engineering experiment center was established to operate centrally original chemistry and chemical engineering experimental departments, which were founded in 1978. The center was rated as provincial basic experiment teaching demonstration center by the Education Department Henan Province in December 2005. There are 32 teachers, several laboratories with a total area of about 2300 square meters, and instruments worth over 10 million Yuan. Now it undertakes 15 professional basic experiments of secondary colleges, mainly including inorganic chemistry experiment, inorganic and analytical chemistry experiment, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry experiment and organic chemistry experiment, principles of chemical engineering experiment, general chemistry experiment, and physical material chemistry experiment, etc. These second colleges contain Materials and Chemical, Biological and Food, Material Physics, Energy and Power, and the Software College. Eighty experimental projects can be carried out, including 12comprehensive experiments.
